Interview With Kevin Dunn, Author Of The Necromancer

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) was first synthesised by Swiss chemist, Dr. Albert Hofmann, in 1938. Although LSD may have been considered suitable for testing in a trial at a time when its recreational use was quite common, it is highly unlikely that it would be considered now, given how considerably social and medical perceptions of drug harms have changed since then.

I'd heard of bad trips before, but I put them in the realm of other impossible things I could never imagine happening to me, like being in a plane crash or becoming paralysed. As psychedelics both magnify the senses and foster community, LSD has found a natural home at music festivals and similar events.

Psychedelic experiences are the most effective way of objectively studying the true nature of consciousness. Earlier animal studies suggested that a different brain receptor, one that affects dopamine, might be responsible for LSD effects. At this point, treatment is essentially palliative: some patients have found antiepileptic drugs help to take the edge off” and others find that wearing sunglasses all the time helps them to navigate the world in a more visually normative way.

While I Psychedelic Video actually loved being on three and a half tabs of acid for the first time, people usually recommend starting with half a tab. It's best not to use drugs as your main way of having fun or handling boredom, unhappiness or stress in your life. After Hofmann's accidental LSD trip, his employer, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, patented and distributed the new drug for experimental use by psychiatrists and students of brain chemistry.

Everyone's experience is a little different, but most people report distinct phases of an LSD trip. The acid could also contain other drugs or hallucinogens without the user being aware of it, and it could even have contaminants that may be harmful. In some cases, a person taking acid may have a good trip, which is one that leads to intense feelings of pleasure, enlightenment, happiness, or connection with others.
